First Aid Responder Training

This three day course covers wide range of topics to teach the learners how to administer First Aid care in the workplace. First Aid Response or FAR is PHECC’s newest education and training standard. This First Aid Responder Course teaches participants to provide first aid for a person who becomes suddenly unwell or injured until the arrival of emergency medical services. This course also includes full Cardiac First Response Community.

Online Manual Handling

The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 are examined with particular emphasis on the legislation specific to manual handling in the workplace.  This legislation, referred to as the Manual Handling of Loads Regulations 2007, outlines the duties of the employer including the requirement to avoid manual handling where possible, to carry out manual handling risk assessments and to reduce the risk of manual handling injuries to employees by implementing appropriate controls.

This course consists of 7 units that can be done as a classroom course or as a blended online course. A blended online course involves completing online modules and then taking part in a classroom-based practical assessment.

CFR Training

This course covers a range of topics to do with cardiac emergencies. It will also teach you how to use an AED, when it should be used and who should use it. This course focuses very heavily on practical skills and student participation. By the end of the course the students will have completed numerous cycles of CPR while using a defibrillator, this is all designed to make the student more comfortable and confident, if ever asked to carry out the skills for real.
